15 creators in 7 days: what I learned using Trybe

October 6, 2026

If you only have UGC creators darkposting content for meta, then you will only have about 25% of the value in working with influencers.

If you have been to any DTC conferences or scrolling DTC twitter you likely have heard “Trybe” getting thrown around in different circles.

‍

Maybe like you, I’ve been asking whats the difference for Trybe and just normal whitelisting / UGC creators?

‍

My honest answer is that it really isn’t all that different from any Influencer SAAS tool, but what they’ve done has really coined a certain business model.

‍

With the rise of Tik Tok Shops, UGC creators want to make money from producing content, and content that works in paid social.

‍

Trybe has fully coined the model where the creator makes content for free and gets anywhere from 5-10% of Trybe revenue or 5% of adspend depending on the size of your brand.

‍

This makes it super easy to add in whitelisting without having to  go back and forth on paying someone $500 and not knowing if it’s going to convert.

‍

I have been heads down using the platform myself for a new brand I’ve launched.

‍

In the first week, I onboarded about 15 creators to the platform.

‍

This was a very light lift on my end.

‍

I reached out to probably 15 creators in the discovery section, and had a ton of creators apply into the program from the creators finding the brand through the public brand listings

‍

The things I’ve liked about Trybe has been messaging influencers back and forth in the chat (faster than DM’s and emails), quickly adding in whitelisting access, and payouts can be set to weekly vs. a net 30 which helps creators get a quick hit of cash on the payouts.

‍

Currently here is where I’d place Trybe when it comes to the influencer marketing echo system.

‍

Trybe is a super easy use case to get performance UGC creative.

‍

It’s not necessarily going to be something where you are working with a massive influencer on a new product launch or campaign.

‍

The typical creator in there is a newer UGC creator and has opted in to hopefully make a great side income.

‍

If I was a brand in the $0-6M /year revenue range I would be using Trybe to make all your UGC for paid social to grow your ad account.

‍

What Trybe is currently missing is two things:

1. Organic reach and posts helps generate TOF demand and trust with the consumer.

‍

I think there’s a great play for using Trybe for performance UGC, and additionally layering in organic product  seeding to work with actual influencers who generate content that gets posted on IG REELS and stories. The organic trust built helps drive conversion rates, new ad angles and helps your brand appear “everywhere”. We did this for Hexclad for years, and did over 400 Million views in just one year. Think about influencer seeding like free advertising.

‍

2. Ranking in Chat GPT.

‍

I think 2027 will be the year of the influencer (not UGC creator) because third party trust is so much more important as the development of AI content continues to scale.

‍

But also chat gpt, claude etc. is searching social profiles to cater to your searches in your preferred AI tool.

‍

If you only have UGC creators darkposting content for meta, then you will only have about 25% of the value in working with influencers.

‍

This is my current take on Trybe and it could change as things develop and the tool changes.

‍

The last thing I’ll leave you with is that the Tool does not do the work. The right tool in the right hands of people who know what they are doing is going to get you the outcome you want.

‍

We are starting to offer full Trybe management for clients and rolling it out to new clients.
